Seat upgrades
Paid cabin upgrades and advance seat selection, checked live against airline availability. We tell you the real price and the real chance of getting it — and we do not sell upgrades we cannot deliver.
What we can arrange
- Paid upgrades to premium economy, business or first, where the airline releases upgrade inventory to travel agencies
- Rebooking into a higher cabin by paying the fare difference and any reissue charge
- Advance seat selection, including exit rows, bulkheads and extra-legroom seats the airline sells
- Seating families and groups together where seats remain available
- Adding a frequent flyer number so the airline can consider you for its own upgrade processes
You are calling Worlds Travel LLC, an independent travel agency — not an airline. A service fee may be charged in addition to the airline’s own fare and charges, and it is quoted to you before you agree to anything. Prefer to write? Email contact@worldstravels.us.
What we cannot promise
Upgrades are the area where travellers are most often misled. Here is the honest position.
Mileage upgrades
Redeeming your own miles or points is between you and your frequent flyer programme. A travel agency cannot spend your miles for you.
Complimentary upgrades
Free operational or status upgrades are decided by the airline, usually at the airport. Nobody can arrange one in advance, and anyone who says they can is not being straight with you.
Bid-for-upgrade offers
Airline bidding programmes are run by the airline directly with the ticket holder. We can tell you whether your carrier runs one, but we cannot bid for you.
Guaranteed seats
Aircraft get swapped and seat maps get rebuilt. A paid seat assignment is the airline’s to honour, and it will refund the seat charge if it cannot.
Upgrades on other agencies’ tickets
We can only work on bookings held by Worlds Travel LLC. For tickets issued elsewhere, go back to the issuer.
Cheaper than the airline
We do not claim to beat airline upgrade pricing. We check what is available and tell you what it costs.
How an upgrade is priced
| Component | Set by | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Fare difference to the higher cabin | Airline | Varies with live availability, often significantly |
| Reissue or upgrade charge | Airline | Where the fare rules impose one |
| Paid seat selection charge | Airline | Per seat, per flight segment |
| Worlds Travel handling fee | Worlds Travel LLC | Quoted before we make any change |
Upgrading can change your fare rules. Moving to a different cabin can alter whether the ticket is changeable or refundable, and can affect baggage and loyalty earning. We will explain the new rules before you commit.
Upgrade FAQs
When is the best time to ask?
Two moments tend to work: at booking, when cabin inventory is widest, and a few days before departure, when airlines sometimes release unsold premium seats. It costs nothing to ask at both.
Can you upgrade one passenger on a shared booking?
Sometimes, but it may require splitting the booking record, which can affect the remaining passengers. We will explain the consequences first.
Will an upgrade earn more miles?
Usually yes, though the earning rate depends on the fare class you end up in, not just the cabin. Your airline programme sets those rules.
Is a paid seat refundable if the aircraft changes?
Airlines normally refund a seat charge if they cannot provide the seat you paid for. Tell us if it happens and we will pursue it with the carrier.
Ask what is actually available.
An agent will check live inventory on your flight and give you a straight answer.
Calls are answered by Worlds Travel LLC agents. We will never ask for your full card number by email or text message.
